The couple found a creepy "alien hand" on the beach

The horrifying discovery was made by a couple walking along a beach in Brazil. This happened after a strange giant hand appeared in the middle of the sand. With this in mind, he turned to social media for help, sharing images and videos of his discovery.

"We don't know what kind of animal it is, and if it's an alien, it's even worse," Leticia Gomez Santiago said via Facebook after the discovery she made with her boyfriend Devanir Souza.

The find was made on Ilha Comprida beach in the state of Sao Paulo, where a sandal was placed to demonstrate the size of the found skeleton.

"We think it's not human because of the size and number of bones. "What could it be?" the young woman asked.

Meanwhile, on social media, users expressed various hypotheses about what it could be. "It's the hand of an alien," "it's the hand of a mermaid," and "it could have been from a dinosaur" were part of the comments.

The images, which were shared on social media, were seen by a marine biologist  Eric Comyn, who claimed that the hand belonged to a cetacean — a large marine mammal that includes whales and dolphins.

Comyn assured that although he looks like an alien, he is a characteristic of the first ancestors of whales, and clarified that the bones may have belonged to a dolphin, since they are found in abundance in this area.

The biologist said that he probably died at sea about 18 months ago and that additional tests were needed to determine which species he belonged to.
