The last time comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) was visible in the night sky was when Neanderthals were still roaming the planet. A lot has changed over the past 50,000 years, and now we can see these celestial objects with binoculars and telescopes. But now you can see comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) with the naked eye.
Currently, its magnitude is 5.9, so it is only visible where the sky is really dark. But as it approaches the Earth, it is expected to reach magnitude 5, which is equivalent to the magnitude of Ursa Minor, the star in the lower left corner of the constellation.
If you could not detect a comet in your sky, then you can use binoculars.
The day of maximum approach is February 1, when the comet will be about 42 million kilometers from Earth.
The comet is visible in the Northern Hemisphere throughout the night, so you don't have to get up very early to notice it. It is located next to the constellation of the Dragon, right under the handle of the Big Dipper.
Over the next few days, it will continue to move north, passing by Ursa Minor.
