The earth is approaching Mars — on October 6, the red planet will face off.
Mars is getting brighter-Italian photographer Paolo Bardelli took this picture at dawn on September 6 from Sumirago in the province of Varese. According to him, the Moon and Mars were very close to each other. A beautiful feathery cloud below seems to frame this celestial Union.
Now the magnitude of Mars is -2, which is almost twice as bright as Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. The Red planet will become even brighter in the coming weeks, highlighted by an impressive conjunction with the full Moon on October 2.
On October 6, Mars will be located at a distance of 62 million km from our planet, and then the confrontation will take place.
Approximately every two years, the Earth and Mars, moving in orbits, come closer to each other. This phenomenon is called "confrontation".
