The authorities are investigating fragments of space debris that fell in Gujarat on May 12.
It is noted that they fell with loud pops, the debris scattered over an area with a radius of 15 km, while no damage to the infrastructure was recorded.
Among the fallen parts was a black spherical metal object weighing 5 kg.
So far, the authorities and the Indian Space Research Organization have not been able to pinpoint the origin of the wreckage. According to the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, these may be parts of the 3rd stage of the Chinese Long March 3B rocket.
In April, several items also fell in the west of the country. Indian scientists conducted an on-site inspection and determined that these were parts of a Chinese rocket.
