The duet of Mars and Venus will delight stargazers on Monday, July 12. The approach of the planets can be observed after sunset, they will be bright enough, so even residents of large cities will be able to see their dance, AccuWeather reports.
In recent weeks, Venus has been clearly visible in the evening sky. This planet is the third brightest celestial object after the Sun and the Moon, so it is easy to find it in the sky.
At the beginning of the new week, Mars will get closer to Venus in an astronomical event known as a conjunction. In the sky, the planets will appear at a distance of the width of a finger. Mars will be much dimmer than Venus, it is more difficult to see it without a telescope or binoculars.
If cloudy weather sets in on July 12, then the next night there will be another opportunity to see the planets, since they will still remain nearby. Venus will shine in the evening sky until August, every night moving further away from Mars.
