The Milky Way and golden cloud threads over the Portuguese steppe

The Portuguese photographer went to the vicinity of the village of Mertola to observe night birds, but at the same time witnessed a fascinating celestial spectacle. On the presented wide-angle panorama, the Milky Way stretches over the steppe like an arched bridge, and golden cloud threads shine under it.

To the left, just above the horizon, Mars glows with a yellow dot. Saturn and Jupiter are located on the right near the galactic arc. The latter stands out for its large size. At the top above the Milky Way, you can see the star Vega, which is the brightest in the constellation Lyra. To the left, just below the arc, the spiral galaxy Andromeda is visible as a blurred white stroke.
