A disturbing incident that occurred during an exorcism and resulted in the death of a woman, has caused concern among medical professionals in Pakistan.

After Soraya Begum, a resident of the city Sagadat started acting strange and talking to herself, her husband decided that she was possessed by Jinn, infamous across the Middle East evil spirits.

Trying to free her from the demonic entity, the husband of Soraya enlisted the help of two "spiritual healers", known in the Pakistani culture of "peers". Unfortunately for women, feasts practiced an extreme form of "alternative medicine". They tied her to a tree and beaten with sticks.

Apparently, this tactic of expelling evil Jinn had no luck. Then the dark shamans decided to hang the woman's legs and blew smoke under suffering woman.

Her husband, Nazar Hussain tried to stop the ceremony. But quacks continued to torture her until she died. As often happens, after a sinister ceremony feasts disappeared.

Unfortunately, the horrific death of Begum is not uncommon in Pakistan, where ignorant people prefer to surrender into the hands of spiritual healers than to contact a qualified technician.

This phenomenon is not confined to rural areas of Pakistan, such things often happen in slums of major cities. Eminent Pakistani psychiatrist expressed deep concern about this news, because currently the country has the opportunity to receive free medical care, which could benefit the members of this family.

"This is the height of ignorance. Given her symptoms, it is likely that the woman was suffering from schizophrenia. We as a nation still cannot explain to our people that many psychological diseases are easily treated, said Mohammad Sultan, head of the Department of psychiatry at the Khyber. These charlatans take advantage of the illiteracy of the people. She wasn't supposed to die."

One can only hope that the news of the death of Soraya Begum make you think many Pakistanis and help them to choose a more viable treatment options.
