The Moscow Design Bureau, led by leading engineer Sergei Bendin, has developed a concept for a flying saucer capable of transporting up to 600 tons of cargo over long distances.
A futuristic device the size of two football fields works on a unique principle. Its dome is filled with helium, and eight powerful helicopter engines are used for vertical ascent.
"The dish is an equidistant shape, which minimizes air resistance and effectively uses wind energy," explained Sergey Bendin.
One of the key advantages of the new invention is its ability to fly long distances without the need for traditional infrastructure. The supply of helium is enough, for example, for a flight from Moscow to Khabarovsk at full load. The lower part of the aeroplatform is designed for cargo and can accommodate dozens of trucks or containers.
"We can transport cargo to any point of the planet where it is difficult to reach by conventional air transport, and at the same time avoid the need to use land routes," the engineer stressed.
The cost of an hour of flight will be significantly lower than any known air transportation, which opens up new prospects for global logistics. Perhaps soon flying saucers will become an integral part of air cargo transportation, saving time, energy and resources.
The A600 aeroplatform will be able to extinguish 3 hectares of forest fire at a time, covering the entire area with a five-centimeter "layer of water"
