How many famous celestial objects can you find in this image?
This image combines more than 60 exposures and covers 220 degrees, creating a real collection of wonders of the night sky.
Visible celestial objects include the Andromeda galaxy, the Orion Belt, the Orion Nebula, the stars Betelgeuse and Sirius, and the California Nebula. It is a little more difficult, however, to find the North star and the big Dipper.
You can also see meteors from the Quadrantid meteor shower, the red and green glow of the air, and two astrophotographers. The photo was taken in January in Sardinia, Italy.
