During a total lunar Eclipse August 28 2007 astrophotographer Donna Chesler has taken the unusual time lapse-the "giant cotton swabs" in the sky over Mingus mountain, National forest, Prescott, Arizona (USA).
Chesler created this optical illusion is based on 3.5 hours of shooting the moon when the satellite passed through the Earth's shadow in Eclipse called "blood Moon". The photo was taken early morning in Clarkdale, Arizona.
The exposure was carried out from the beginning of the partial Eclipse at 1:50 am until its completion at 5:30 a.m. PDT, when appeared the first rays of the sun. The morning light emphasized the silhouette of the Mingus mountains on the horizon.
"I can't imagine that will ever create a more perfect and intriguing picture. The beauty of this picture for me is that he not only has a perfect composition, but also conveys the atmosphere of the place," said the photographer.
