Residents of Veliky Novgorod probably paid attention to yesterday's publication of "53 news", dedicated to the fall from the sky of a strange glowing object.

Let me remind you briefly – according to eyewitnesses, something quickly flew to the ground, and before falling it flashed brightly and disappeared. In the comments, various hypotheses are put forward as to what kind of object could so excite the imagination of people who love everything unusual - from a "shooting star" to a meteorite and even a car.

In this regard, I cannot but share my experience of such "meetings" with the unknown. In the first days of 2003, a local resident turned to me, at that time – an employee of the district newspaper "Our Life" Nina Veselova. Walking with the dog near the house, a pestovchanka found a small object with a metallic sheen on the breaks in the snow. More precisely, the "messenger from outer space" was found by a dog, which she signaled to the hostess with a desperate bark. Thanks to the publication in the district, this story received a wide resonance, after which the capital's scientists even arrived in Pestovo, who were very interested in what happened.

So, after a number of studies, the verdict was made: the object really came from outer space, but the origin is the most earthly. In other words, only ordinary space debris fell from the sky to Pestovo, which accumulated visibly and invisibly in near-Earth orbit as a result of human activity. So, apparently, the explanation of what happened is much more prosaic than we think.
