In the category "Unknown" you constantly write about various anomalies of the Sverdlovsk region. And is there really nothing interesting in Yekaterinburg itself that is worthy of research?

A.Karmanov, Yekaterinburg

It would seem that in the regional center of the Urals, everything is really explored along and across. However, some Yekaterinburg "miracle hunters" think differently. So, the other day, Aif-Ural learned that a number of local ufologists are working on a map of the "Secret Places of Yekaterinburg". The meaning of the name is explained by one of the initiators of the project Andrey Novoselov:

- With the word "secret" we want to summarize all the mysterious anomalies of the city. In fact, on the map itself, they will be divided into groups: historical anomalies, natural places associated with secret religious cults, and so on.

- Will your project be interesting only to those who are interested in mysticism, or does it have a broader purpose?

- We are sure that our guide map will be of interest to a wide range of citizens. Firstly, those who are interested in the history of their hometown. Well, who is not curious to know what legends or little-known facts are associated with this or that building, district? Secondly, dangerous road sections will be marked on the map. Now we are collecting statistics on car crashes, which can not be explained by anything other than a fatal accident. For example, there is just an ideal section of road on the Moscow highway, it's a pleasure to go, but a large number of people are constantly dying there. Why? Obviously, a natural anomaly. I think this information will be useful to motorists. Approximately the same is the collection of data on the most criminogenic points.

When we are going to leave the house in the morning, we look at the thermometer, if it rains, we take an umbrella. Many people are guided by horoscopes. So why not use our map, for example, choosing a route around the city, making it so as to avoid unfavorable places? Naturally, the map will also be useful to specialists in paranormal research.

To date, work on the project "Secret Places of Yekaterinburg" has not yet been completed. But we were told about some anomalies of the city that will be presented on the map. For example, it turned out that Voznesenskaya Hill is "teeming" with them. Ufologists attributed the Kharitonov-Rastorguevs' house with its basements and underground passages to the cursed place. In their opinion, what is not there: according to eyewitnesses, ghosts of people tortured in secret basements are sometimes seen here, and an artificial pond in the park also has an atmosphere of a curse. "It is not surprising," says Novoselov, "that emergencies occur in this place every year: drowned people were found, weapons thrown into the pond, and the park itself was chosen by homeless people."

The area where the Temple-on-Blood is now located is also a dysfunctional place. The fact is that there is a little-known story connected with Ipatiev's house, which happened in 1895. Before engineer Ipatiev, the building was owned by a wealthy merchant, Redikortsev, who was distinguished by homosexual tendencies. For money, he took lovers in the house. In the end, this story became public, the participants of the orgies were sent to hard labor, and Redikortsev himself died of a heart attack before the trial. After that, the rumor of a cursed and desecrated place was fixed behind the building. It is not surprising, ufologists believe, that the royal family was shot here. In our time, the aura of a bad place, according to researchers, fully made itself felt during the construction of the temple, because then more than one person died.

The house, built at the beginning of the last century on Studenoy Street (now Marshal Zhukov, 3), can also be attributed to the number of dangerous places. Here, on the second floor of the stone manor, Lev Afanasievich Krol, a well–known man in pre-revolutionary Yekaterinburg, an engineer, director of the city power plant, rented rooms for several years. But at the same time, Krol headed the Masonic lodge of Yekaterinburg. Here, the chief mason of the city secretly met with Yakov Sverdlov, who arrived in the Urals to work with local Bolsheviks.

"The neighborhood of this house is dysfunctional," ufologists believe, "you can recall at least some of the negative events that occurred here. In 1992, between houses No. 9 and No. 11 on Zhukov Street, the leader of the central criminal group Oleg Vagin was shot, in 1997 the city was shocked by the high-profile murder of Bella Nemykina..."

You scroll through the list of anomalous zones of Yekaterinburg, and it becomes a little uncomfortable. It turns out that mystical dangers lurk almost at every step. For example, in addition to the already mentioned Kharitonov-Rastorguyev mansion, Ural "ghostbusters" collect eyewitness accounts that have seen ghosts in various buildings in Yekaterinburg. So, the house of merchant Zheleznov on Rosa Luxemburg Street is listed among the haunted houses - they say a woman in a white dress was repeatedly seen there. Also, for unknown reasons, ghosts allegedly chose the house on Krylova, 2, where the passport and visa service of the Sverdlovsk region police Department is located.

"There are places on the territory of Yekaterinburg with such an ancient history that is much older than the history of the city itself," the paranormal researchers continue the story, "and these places are associated with ancient religious cults. Unfortunately, with modern construction, this factor is not taken into account. Can you imagine what it's like for kids to study at a school that stands on the site of a pagan temple?"

In particular, such places include the Uktus Mountains. The exact meaning of the name, bearing Bashkir and Tatar roots, is still completely unclear. According to researchers, there are places with special energy here. According to unofficial information, nowadays secret gatherings of Yekaterinburg Satanists periodically take place in the Uktus area.

Another building in Yekaterinburg, which should also appear on the map of the secret places of Yekaterinburg, is the Holy Cross Church at the corner of Lunacharsky and Karl Marx Streets. Last year, Yekaterinburg followers of the Old Russian Inglistic church, worshipping the pagan pantheon of Slavic gods, claimed the temple. They stated that the church stands on the site of the ancient temple of the god Svarog.
