A ghostly vision appeared on the shores of Derwentwater today to mark the launch of Sky's new supernatural crime thriller.
Appearing in the early morning, a creepy figure began to rise from under the water against the dramatic backdrop of the mountains. Surrounded by gray fog, the life-size blue-gray shade of the figure stunned passers-by, who watched in awe as she seemed to utter the words "find me."
Created using advanced technology, the visual was actually a hologram depicting the main character Neve Kelly (Clara Rugaard) from the new series "The Rising".
In the series, which takes place in the Lake District, Neva appears from the lake when she returns from the afterlife to help those investigating her death find her killer.
Daniella Hope, who lives in the area, said:
"I woke up to take a walk by the lake, as I usually do in the morning, and was stunned to see a ghostly figure coming out of the water. I couldn't believe my eyes how real it looked, to the point that I was speechless in the first few moments. It's definitely an interesting way to start the morning, and now I'm curious to find out what happened to her."
The work, developed by Kaleida, the same team that created Robert Kardashian's viral hologram in 2020, took two months to create.
The team has created a modern three-dimensional "ghost" that looks real enough to make you want to touch it.
