The legend of Veronica Dainichi

According to legend, this region was once ruled by the powerful Count Herman II of Celje. His young son Friedrik, who often rode horses on his father's estate, saw a frail, golden-haired girl named Veronika. They fell in love, which old Herman didn't like. 

Despite his resistance, Friedrik and Veronika fled to the town of Friedrichstein near Kocevje in Slovenia, where they secretly married. Old Count Herman soon found out about the wedding and sent an army for the lovers. Friedrik managed to send Veronika away, and she fled through Gorsky Kotar and Mount Kalnik to the village of Sveta Margita.
