In may 2005, the British press published an article dedicated to the mysterious animal that was seen in the vicinity of the town of Lytham (Lytham St Annes) Lancashire. The creature was nicknamed the "Beast of Lituma" ("The beast of Lytham").

The first observation of the beast was on the edge of the forest. Described that the size is not more dog breed collie, but he had huge ears, large mouth and a strange Bouncing gait. Information about the mysterious beast spread rapidly among the inhabitants of a small and quiet up to this point of the town and has caused quite a stir. Soon followed by other reports from witnesses. Mainly being observed in a wooded area Green Drive, which is thick enough to hide a large animal. Sandra Sturrock says that it has encountered an unusual animal during a walk with his dog. According to her, the creature reminded her of a large dog collie light coloured with large spreading ears. For some time the creature stood and looked at the woman and her dog, but it was enough to Sandra to make a move to try to get closer, the creature ran into the woods. According to the woman she had never seen anything like this animal, although had seen in his life many dogs, foxes and a huge number of deer.

Another witness, Willie Davidson, painter. He was playing bowls near Green Drive when I heard behind me a loud growl of an animal. When he turned, he saw a terrible beast that reminded him of the monster from the sci-Fi series "Doctor Who". The end of the meeting, is silent.

Another witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said that was walking and suddenly saw a strange animal on the field. It seemed very similar to the hare, but the size of a dog breed Labrador. He says that the animal looked "completely unrealistic". About this strange "Beast of Litema", there are several theories. One of them is a mysterious being nothing more than a muntjac deer. Over a hundred years ago one of the local Lairds kept a herd of these deer.

It was believed that the deer had long been broken, but suddenly one of them managed to survive? However, hardly anyone of these deer could be compared with the terrifying monsters from the TV series "Doctor Who". It could not be a more exotic animal that escaped from a zoo or farm. Police at the time, checked out all the posts about runaway big beasts and no one like that is not stated. Some have suggested that the "Beast of Litana" only old bald Fox with droopy ears.

Anyway, the mystery animal is still unsolved. Especially strange that in later years it seems there were no messages about this creature.
