Initial data
The observer Chernega R. from the city of Orsha in late June - early July 1981, watched ball lightning:
"The night was a big storm. Lightning blinded the eyes and covered the room in the house bright light. Was terrified of thunder and strong wind gusts. It was raining. Very soon it was all over, there was silence, the wind died.
I got up to the child (it was about half a second) and saw outside the window was an amazing sight. On the next street, not twenty meters from us, stood a pillar with a large lamp under a glass cover, the lamp burned. And around that post, just below the suspension lamps are rapidly moving bright glowing balls of yellowish color, brightness, resembling the full moon.
There were loads of them, the largest with a diameter of 10-15 cm, the others smaller, to the tiny ones. They were flying very erratically in different directions. The smallest - faster; the larger one is slower. Their speed is difficult to determine, perhaps about 2 m/s.
I was amazed that they did not face each other, despite the speed and randomness of movement; to the lamp they wouldn't come close.
Wind did not exist, and that their motives unclear".

Hypotheses
Ball lightning
A rare natural phenomenon, a unified physical theory of the origin and course of which has not been presented to date.
There are about 200 theories explaining the phenomenon, but none of them has received absolute recognition in the academic environment. Since this phenomenon was introduced into the scientific sphere by the English physician and researcher of electrical engineering William Snow Harris in 1843, and a scientist of the French Academy Francois Arago in 1855, many hypotheses were put forward. Here are selectively some of them:
