On May 4, a very beautiful atmospheric phenomenon - a rainbow cloud - could be observed over Granada (Spain) around 13-30. This is a rather rare optical phenomenon. Usually the observed colors are pale, but under certain conditions they can be very bright.
Rainbow coloring of the edge of clouds is called "iris" from the Greek Iris (iρις) — rainbow. It is usually observed on cirrus-cumulus clouds (Cirrocumulus, Cc), since they are formed when wave and upward movements occur in the upper troposphere and consist of ice crystals.
Such clouds are sometimes mistaken for UFOs or their tracks.
