What color is the rainbow? In it, as a rule, you can see all the colors. But the rainbow that Harlan Thomas photographed near the city of Calgary in Alberta (Canada) was very unusual, because it had only red color.
The photographer hoped to capture the silvery clouds and started observing early so that he could also take beautiful sunset pictures. When he was filming the setting sun, he looked over his shoulder, and there was no limit to his surprise. There was a red rainbow that looked like it was very close, as if it could be reached.
What made the rainbow red? It was the only possible color. All the other colors of the rainbow were scattered by air molecules and dust particles under the low sun. It seems that this rainbow has become a wonderful consolation prize for Harlan Thomas — instead of silver clouds.
